One Week Course on Global Investments
In the context of the Advanced Studies Program, Prof. Geert Bekaert, Columbia Business School, will teach a course on "Global Investments" from 25 to 29 August 2008. Bekaert is one of the world's leading experts in international finance.
The course will blend material from a new MBA textbook on International Financial Management (by Geert Bekaert and Robert J. Hodrick, Prentice Hall, 2008); material from a Columbia Business School MBA class on Global Portfolio Management and recent academic research.
The course discusses international financial markets and instruments including currency markets; international diversification and optimal asset allocation. A common focus in all sessions will be the globalization phenomenon and its effects on markets, asset allocation and the real economy.
The course will take place at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
